Dynamic Link: First publication

See the previous entry on Calvin College’s new journal Dynamic Link.

There is a pre-proof PDF of the first issue of Dynamic Link! Find it here. I’ve already been in touch with Professor Pat Bailey and he is looking for submissions for their next issue.
The contents of the inaugural edition:

  1. Dorothy Graham, “Christian Faith in the Software Industry”
  2. Ken Shafer, “Software Development and Maintenance as Stewardship”
  3. Mike McIntosh, “Against Optimism in Software Development: Optimism v. Realism in Business Software Development”
  4. James Stewart, “Software in its Place”
  5. Remington Steed, “Programming and the Kingdom of God”
  6. Pat Bailey, “Examining Christian Faith and Software Development”
  7. Jared Staal, “Faith at Work and the Environment”

I’ve never considered the relation of Christian Stewardship to maintenance and testing, but it’s definitely a solid connection. The whole issue is a good read, but Shafer’s article is perhaps one of the meatiest. The questionnaire responses shouldn’t be missed.
